Essential compilation of Walter Gibbon's best work from 1976 - 86. If you have any interest in playing real, authentic disco, it really wouldn't hurt to buy this entire comp. Walter Gibbons is widely known for remixing the first ever commercial 12" for Salsoul back in 1976 (, and has since mixed so many classic disco tracks for so many different groups and artists. Jungle Music is a great way to get familiar with his work (or fill in the gaps for those in the know) with an excellent selection of tracks - from rare material like Jakki's "Sun Sun Sun" (which has been re-edited so many times, but nothing compares to the original), the impossible to find 12+ minute acetate mix of Gladys Knight's "It's A Better Than Good Time," Sandy Mercer's sexy groover "You Are My Love" and a previously-unreleased mix of Dinosaur L (aka Arthur Russell)'s classic "Go Bang." Also includes hidden gems from Luv You Madly Orchestra, TC James, Bettye Lavette and Arts & Craft. 8 tracks total on double vinyl with liner notes. Recommended.
