The Professionals: The Professionals (Oh No & Madlib) Vinyl LP
Otis Jackson Jr. aka Madlib on the beats and Michael Jackson (!!!) aka Oh No on the raps. Although they've worked on a handful of tracks over the years (some on Madlib Medicine Show #9: Nittyville, WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip, etc.) this is the first collaborative record the brothers have released as The Professionals. Madlib has shaped the sound of many genre classics from various rappers, and Oh No has also remained active on production (Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Talib Kweli, etc.) as well as behind the mic. For this project, the Beat Konducta is behind the board, and Oh No No delivers cold verses over a distinct soundbed created with a swath of layered samples and deceptively simple, yet inimitable programming.
