Seekae: +DOME / The Sound of Trees Falling on People (Free MP3) Vinyl 3LP

First time on vinyl! Sydney's Seekae initially came to light in 2008 with the release of their debut album, The Sound of Trees Falling on People. After playing live and honing their material for about a year the trio recorded the album. It's a mix of live instrumentation and electronic production that has won them attention from Australian radio and a Soundclash grant from the Australian Arts Council. They draw on influence from artists like Mount Kimbie and James Blake while putting their own stamp on their material. Their second album, +Dome, dropped in 2011 and marked a shift for the group. With funding from the Soundclash grant they were able to expand their production capabilities and move in a more IDM influenced direction. They draw on early Autechre as well as the Warp roster's more downtempo leaning artists. From this they've crafted a sound that sits them somewhere in between the beat heads and the greater world of electronica, while maintaining some singer-songwriter leanings on a few tracks. It might sound unfocused on paper, but their songs are remarkably cohesive. Limited edition 3LP 180 gram pressing.
