MRR: EYEdeals (Drumetrics) Vinyl 10"

MRR: EYEdeals (Drumetrics) Vinyl 10"

6TH RELEASE FROM SAN DIEGO MUSICAL COLLECTIVE. EYEdeals is the latest release from the Drumetrics Collective, an ever-shifting group of West Coast artists whose "sound" can be best characterized as an energetic blend of electronic, psychedelic, and funk music from the 1960's. The Collective aims to recreate and release music inspired from the UK Library Music scene of that same era, using vintage analog equipment and minimal post-production. The journey of the collective-turned-label began in 1999 with MRR (Michael Raymond Russell) and GLK (The Gaslamp Killer) under the alias MHE, Machines Have Emotions. Labheads are obviously familiar with GLK's work, but MRR has lowkey worked with a host of artists, including Gonjasufi, Ghostface Killah, and Malcolm Catto of The Heliocentrics (Catto is often a guest on Drumetrics releases). From their first 45s, the collective has gone on to release a slew of limited 10-inches and cassettes that all sell out quickly and garner high prices on the second-hand market. After missing out on the first few, when any new release comes out I always make sure to get 2 copies cause it never disappoints. It's sampler-friendly fire for producers, television & movie scores. This latest release is wholly designed / produced / engineered by MRR, who plays all instruments with the exception of the guitar on A1 (that credit goes to DJR - David John Rico), and is self-described as Drumatic Psychetronic Library Music. The description stands true, as MRR seamlessly blends Library and Psych flavors with pulsating drums to create something truly unique in the era of digital production. Six tracks in all. Released by Drumetrics in a strictly Limited Pressing of 500 copies on 10" vinyl, housed in a die-cut (D) front cover & debossed Drumetrics logo with silver foil font back. Comes with digital download code.
