Kamaal Williams: New Heights / Snitches Brew Vinyl 12"
Following fresh on the heels of his 2018 solo debut release The Return, Kamaal Williams laces us with two incredibly deep cuts on this 12" released on his own Black Focus Records. Under the production pseudonym Henry Wu, Williams crafts highly-danceable hypnotic jazz-funk with production help from Darkhouse Family. "New Heights" marries a low down elastic bassline with Williams' idosyncratic keys heads have come to love, while "Snitches Brew" shouts out to Miles with psychedelically melting wah wah breakbeats. It's another sure-shot from the British producer / musician, and it sounds fantastic pressed on 180g vinyl. Highly recommended.
