Joubert Singers: Stand on the Word (Larry Levan Remix) Vinyl 12"
Another impossible-to-find Larry Levan classic repressed. This 12" features the unreleased mix of the Joubert Singers' "Stand On The Word" which was a favorite at the Garage, Loft and Zanzibar clubs, as played by Levan, Mancuso, and others. The track was originally recorded at the First Baptist Church in Crown Heights back in '82 and was pressed only for the congregation. Walter Gibbons was in his born again Christian faze so he managed to get a copy and spread the word about it and the rest is history. Favorite Recordings offers up Levan's mix along with three disco tinged remixes. We used to have this on the TIRK sampler 12" and a white label, but those have long been sold out, so cop this! Recommended.
