The track that put Joey Beltram on the map. Before he would go on to practically invent the Hoover sound with 1991's "Mentasm," Beltram debuted with the hard edged techno of "Energy Flash." Coming on like nothing before, the pounding kicks, synthetic stabs and rolling bass marked a turning point in rave culture. Invited by R & S Records's Renaat Vandepapeliere to record in the label's Belgian studio, the Queens native brought along a reel to reel of previously recorded material just in case the session did not go well. The reel contained "Energy Flash" which quickly became one of the era's rave anthems. Not only did R & S release it but it was picked up by Derrick May's Transmat label, as well. Classic, genre defining hard techno. Single sided pressing, cuz you don't need anything other than this!
