Gloria Ann Taylor had a diverse, genre leaping career that featured an exceptional cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," while husband Walter Whisenhunt seems to be just as celebrated for his left field disco productions. This release features the duo's most sought after track "Love Is A Hurtin' Thing," a seductively deep disco soul groove, back with "Brother Less Than A Man." Both songs are heavily dubbed out with tons of reverb and packed with curious imperfections. Those imperfections are what make this record so unique as they breath life into the pain hidden in the lyrics and provide a window into the soul behind the music.
