Greta Kline aka Frankie Cosmos’ second studio album. The NY-based singer’s extensive catalog of bedroom recordings (also under the Ingrid Superstar alias) is noted for the “heartbreaking sincerity” she is able to deliver, and similar to her first label effort, Zentropy (2014), Next Thing builds on the more minimal DIY materials she has released in the past (“Embody,” “Too Dark”). The 15-tracker also features new songs like “Sappho” and “Floated In,” and even with a more fleshed out sound, FC’s youthful bursts of abandon, frustration, and despair sharply cut through. Check out “Too Dark,” “Sinister,” and “If I Had a Dog” in addition to aforementioned tracks.
