The Funky President steady flauntin'. J-Rocc aka "the best DJ in the world" resurrects his Flaunt Edwards alias for a stunning batch of electro-fied bangers to turn out the dancefloor out. On The Name Is Flaunt, the veteran L.A. party-rocker showcases his experience and versatility with 6 sure shot re-works that channel the spirit of underground legends like Ron Hardy, Larry Levan, and DJ Harvey. A freaked Kraftwerk sample kicks things off on the electro-footwork fusion of "No Fun," while the funk comes strong on the killer female vocal sample-lead workout "Anymore." Next up, J-Rocc switches it up with some old school warehouse vibes on the mambo-tinged house groove "Desilu," before returning to Kraftwerk pitch play on the amped up "Computer World" take, "The Highway." Two more leftfield DJ tools round out the EP ("Frisco" and "The Move"), making for an eclectic, well-rounded set that won't be leaving the bag anytime soon. Recommended.
