Dam-Funk: Architecture II Vinyl 12"

Dam-Funk: Architecture II Vinyl 12"

The streets needed this follow up to Dam-Funk’s house-flavored Architecture 12”, released last year on Canary Islands-based (it’s a Spanish territory off the coast of Morocco. Now you know!) Saft Musik. Dame puts his best foot forward with the sublime “In The City” in the A1 spot; all dreamy jacking house vibes sounding like some vintage LH but with that unmistakable DF bassline, it’s the best tune to come out of the Architecture series for sure. “Best Weekend” floats one of Dame’s signature earworm melodies over a 2-step gangster shuffle, “Bounce” wanders curiously into techno airspace with a sparse arrangement of dissonant pads, rude bassline and flanged snares, and “Don’t Give Up” ends the joint on a characteristically uplifting note with the swing dialed all the way up. All four tracks are lush. The timing couldn't be more perfect, as the elusive first Architecture 12” was just repressed, so get with both. Recommended.
